55 Reflections: What 55 Years Has Taught Me
When I realized I was turning 55, I started thinking about everything these years have taught me. Not just the big moments or the milestones, but the quiet lessons—the ones that showed up when I wasn’t expecting them.
Some lessons came through joy. Others came through heartbreak. Some arrived during long hikes, quiet mornings, funny conversations, and even by watching a dung beetle determined to just keep rolling. Life has always been teaching me—I just haven’t always been paying attention.
Over the rest of this year, I’ll be sharing 55 Reflections drawn from the lessons, stories, and moments that have shaped my life. Rather than rushing through them, I want to give each one the space it deserves, sharing them as they’re written and as life continues to unfold.
My hope is that you’ll find pieces of your own story in these reflections. Maybe one will encourage you. Maybe one will make you smile. Maybe one will gently challenge you to see your own life a little differently.
So, whether you’ve been here from the beginning or you’re just discovering this series, I hope you’ll check back often. I’d love for us to walk through these reflections together, one lesson at a time, for the rest of the year.
